How to plan a multilingual dental website and SEO
For visitors enquiring from abroad, language, clinic information and contact options form one experience. A multilingual website needs more than translated navigation.
Choose languages you can support
Start with the languages the clinic can actually use to answer enquiries. Adding a language needs a response process, not just translated text. Service, team, contact and visit-planning pages should be available alongside the home page.
Give each language a clear URL
Google recommends separate URLs for language versions and appropriate hreflang annotations. Provide visible language links and let visitors choose. A language switch should lead to the corresponding service page, rather than leaving most content untranslated.
Make clinic information verifiable
Keep team information, location, travel directions and contact details clear and current. A qualified person at the clinic should review health-related copy.
Give every service page a purpose
Decide whether a page explains a service, helps visitors arrange a conversation or supports visit planning. Do not copy the same paragraph across different service or city names. Connect useful explanations to relevant team details and a clear contact step.
Separate search visibility from enquiries
Search Console queries, pages and countries can help explain search visibility. A WhatsApp click shows contact intent; it is not a confirmed appointment or patient. Evaluate actual enquiries and appointments using records the clinic can verify.
Test both languages before launch
Check mobile navigation, language links, forms, phone and WhatsApp links in every language. Ensure important content is accessible to search crawlers. Include image descriptions and page titles in translation, and assign responsibility for keeping each version updated.
